Local people carry their history in every line on their faces and are happy to share the story of their heritage with anyone who is interested.
Country life has changed little over the years and is conducted at a much slower and more relaxed pace, with none of the stress associated with city life. For instance, as we sit drinking our morning coffee, we can see our neighbour, Maria, on her donkey as she takes her eight cows to the water barrels, a scene which has endured for hundreds of years: small slice of history, not seen by our guests in their everyday lives.
